About Scheerer Bearing
Scheerer Bearing Corporation has a rich history that began in 1960 when Pedro Rymar, along with his wife and three children, left Brazil and arrived in Philadelphia with only $200. He found work as a factory helper at Zubler Bearing Company, owned by the Scheerer brothers. By 1963, Pedro was running the factory as plant manager, but a fire destroyed it that same year. In the aftermath, Kurt and Eric Scheerer decided to part ways as partners, with Kurt keeping the Zubler name and Eric partnering with Pedro to establish Scheerer Bearing Corporation in August 1963. In 1978, Pedro acquired Eric's interest and became the second president and CEO. Today, the company remains in the hands of the Rymar family, with George Rymar, Pedro's son, serving as the third President and CEO. George has led the company to continued growth, overseeing expansions in 1993 and 2014.
Scheerer Bearing Products
Deep Groove Ball Bearings
Deep groove ball bearings are one of Scheerer Bearing's core product offerings. These bearings feature deep raceway grooves, allowing them to accommodate radial loads and moderate axial loads. They are commonly used in applications such as electric motors, automotive components, and industrial machinery.
Angular Contact Ball Bearings
Scheerer Bearing also excels in the production of angular contact ball bearings. These bearings are designed to handle both radial and axial loads simultaneously, making them ideal for applications that involve high-speed rotations and combined loads. They find extensive use in machine tools, pumps, and gearboxes.
Cylindrical Roller Bearings
Cylindrical roller bearings offered by Scheerer Bearing are widely used in heavy-duty applications that require high radial load capacity. These bearings have excellent rigidity and can accommodate axial displacement within the bearing assembly. Industries such as mining, steel, and wind energy rely on Scheerer's cylindrical roller bearings for their critical operations.
Tapered Roller Bearings
Tapered roller bearings are designed to handle both radial and axial loads by gradually increasing or decreasing the contact angle along the bearing's path. Scheerer Bearing produces high-quality tapered roller bearings that are commonly used in automotive transmissions, heavy machinery, and industrial gearboxes.
Plain bearings, also referred to as bushings or sleeve bearings, provide smooth and low-friction operation in various applications. Scheerer Bearing offers plain bearings with different materials and self-lubricating properties, ensuring reliable performance in demanding conditions.
Scheerer Bearing's spherical bearings are designed to accommodate misalignment between shafts and housing. These bearings are self-aligning and can withstand heavy radial and axial loads. They find applications in industries such as mining, construction, and power generation.
Spherical Roller Bearings
Spherical roller bearings provided by Scheerer Bearing are engineered to handle heavy loads and misalignment. These bearings have two rows of symmetrical rollers, making them suitable for applications with high radial loads and moderate axial loads. Industries like paper mills, steel plants, and wind turbines benefit from the exceptional performance of Scheerer's spherical roller bearings.
Custom Bearings and Assemblies
In addition to their extensive range of standard bearings, Scheerer Bearing offers custom bearing solutions tailored to specific customer requirements. The company's experienced engineers collaborate closely with clients to design and manufacture custom bearings and assemblies that meet their unique needs. Scheerer Bearing's expertise in customization ensures optimal performance and reliability in critical applications.
