Guard Flex Flywheel Couplings
Guard-Flex is a torsionally soft, vibration-dampening coupling with an in-shear design. Due to the vibration dampening, the coupling protects both engine and driven equipment when higher inertias are present. The couplings act as a mechanical protector in case of overload situations. The coupling is designed to fail through the rubber and shear.
The Guard-Flex rubber is offered in 45, 55, and 65 shores A durometers. The design also incorporates axial, radial, and angular misalignment to reduce forces on the driven equipment. These couplings are widely used for rotary screw compressors, centrifugal pumps, blowers, generators, and hydraulic pumps.
