Twiflex Link Clutch
Twiflex Link Clutches can be used as a simple, effective, speed-limiting brake to launch lifeboats or restrain the fall of elevators or automatic doors. The clutch consists of separate driving and driven members - completely disconnected when at rest.
The driven member has a drum form and the driving member is similar to a hub to which the shoes are connected via link pairs and rubber bushes. The rubber bushes can be set to control the shoe connecting speed, provide frictionless non-wearing pivots, and also deflect to accommodate misalignment thereby enabling the clutch to 'double' as an efficient flexible coupling.

Overload protection prevents engine stalling, and motor overheating, and limits vibratory torques and stresses due to sudden jams.
