ATC Chains: high storage capacity in the tightest of spaces

ATC chains are used as tool storage for machining centers and are an exciting alternative to indexing tables, cartridges, or portals. The meander-shaped chain guidance allows for a high storage capacity of tools under limited spatial conditions.

The ATC chain is designed as a Galle chain, and the plates turn on heat-treated and coated bushings. Several tool holders are integrated into the bushings providing a gentle fit for the spindle cone of the respective tool. The axial pull-off force can be adjusted depending on the tool weight and the chain arrangement (tools lying, hanging, or standing).

ATC chains are manufactured to customers' requirements with different pitches. Wippermann can also supply a variety of tool holders (SK, HSK, etc.) and matching sprockets.
