Cylinder Accessories

Cylinder accessories mainly consist of pneumatic joints (U, F, Y, and I Joints) and sensors. A pneumatic joint connects compressed air tools to a compressed air line.

While sensors provide position feedback to control systems, the cylinder uses the sensor to detect the position of the piston, where positional feedback is essential.

Reed sensors, also known as magnetic sensors, are the most common type of pneumatic proximity sensors, which detect the magnetic field of a magnet integrated within the cylinder piston. The sensor is mounted on the exterior of the piston body, switching on or off when it is either near the magnet or not.
