The Autonics BJ1M-DDT-C is a diffuse reflective type sensor with a sensing distance of 1 meter and capable of detecting opaque or translucent targets. It uses an infrared LED at 850 nm and has a fast response time of up to 1 ms. The device operates on 12–24 VDC with a ripple tolerance of up to 10% and a current consumption not exceeding 30 mA. Sensitivity can be adjusted with a dedicated adjuster, and the unit supports both Light ON and Dark ON modes set by a switch. The control output is an NPN open collector, and it uses an M8 connector for connection. The sensor is designed for challenging environments with a protection structure of IP67 and can withstand ambient temperatures from -25 to 55 °C (storage -40 to 70 °C) and humidity from 35 to 85% RH (storage the same). It tolerates high ambient illumination, up to 11,000 lux in sunlight and 3,000 lux under incandescent lighting. The housing is made from polycarbonate and ABS, with the LED cap in polycarbonate, and the sensing part in PMMA; brackets are stainless steel SUS304, while fasteners are steel with chromium molybdenum coating and brass sleeves with nickel plating. Hysteresis is limited to a maximum of 20% of the sensing distance. Included accessories are a fixing bracket, two M3 bolts, two M3 nuts, and an adjuster driver.
