How to Repair Conveyor Belt Effectively with SUNPAT-L

Conveyor belts are used in various applications, like steel mills, cement plants, and the mining industry. Sometimes conveyor belts can be damaged for various reasons. When belt damage happens, it is always critical to avoid lengthy downtime and expensive repair methods. SUNPAT-L rubber base material, produced by Bando, is a perfect solution, which can even be used in winter. We offer an elastomeric repairing material to help repair your conveyor belt quickly and effectively.

 

1. Belt Cleaning

Buff and clean up the belt surface with a scratch brush and cleaning brush. Moisture on the treated surfaces interferes with adhesion to remove the moisture with an infrared ray light or floodlight. 

 

2. Material Mixing

Mix hardener and mix base by a ratio of 10:1 by weight. Avoid measuring by eye because the material will not become hardened in the case of an inaccurate mixture. 

Mixing time - 1 minute

Repairing time - 4 minutes

 

3. Components hardening

After mixing the two components, the mixture should be applied immediately to the damaged part of the belt because it hardens within five minutes. To prevent damage and separation caused by the belt scraper, the surface of the repaired part should be finished a little lower than that of the original belt surface.

 

4. Belt operation

The conveyor belt can be operated for 40 minutes after the repair is complete. The belt operation time always depends on the seasonal temperature.
